Our Society

Our Goals

The main goals of the Society are:

  • to enable members to make new contacts among Cambridge alumni—wherever they may be—to keep them in touch with the University of Cambridge and to provide a social focus.
  • to encourage discussion between resident members of the University and those members of the Society in business and professional life whose knowledge and experience can make useful contributions in any area of concern to the university.
  • to support exchange students (students from Cambridge studying in Germany and students from Germany studying in Cambridge).
  • to use the expertise of members in any way that would carry forward the purpose of the Society.

History

The German Cambridge Society was founded in 1978. Its predecessor was a Dining Club founded by alumni of the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge in 1965.

The German Cambridge Society is in close contact with the Alumni Office of the University of Cambridge.
